Yikes... who would have known - absent this video, that is - that NasTim would sound so much like an only slightly butcher Truman Capote? Well, like TC in a Che Guevara T-shirt and sun-goggles, I suppose. So much for his prole street-cred - he has the careful, crystal Midwestern enunciation of a male Joan Crawford impersonator, the sibilant esses of the kind of sensitive child that David Sedaris writes about. As for Nancy Sinatra as a framing device; well, that doesn't go far to dispell the fey impression...

Did you actually make it through the entire video? I gave up after 54 seconds. They were, in fairness, the Nasdijjiest 54 seconds of my life.
Ah, well, but I have a duty to my public. It only gets more so...

Nope, so far, so good in terms of all things litigilicious.
Let's just say that when it comes to being a private eye, NasTim had better not quit his day job.
Bringing on the inevitable question, I suppose: what on earth would that be?
I tried again with the video today. Marginally less odious with the sound off, but still didn't make it through the whole thing.
He's only got 21 page views, poor sod. Perhaps he should change his name to LonelyNasdijj15? Or make a video of a brilliant, troubled teenage boy dropping Mentos in Diet Coke?
Nasdijjfan, are you not going to write on the most recent set of high-larious YouTube PoetryArtVideos? Too many people have been critical, it looks like, as he's disabled the ratings after giving himself 5 stars. (You'd think if "we" were actually in Paris, "we" would go out and shoot some videos of Paris, rather than just close shots of our own face.)
Oh, I've been thinking about writing about the latest incarnation, but something about this stuff just makes me sad - he's clearly in sort of dire straits, and if playing that he's a filmmaker living in Paris makes NasTim feel good, I suppose, why not. After the farrago of abuse he spewed against my poor little self (still no indictment from LA, though - whew!), I've not heard from him lately, and have let sleeping dogs lie.
On the other hand, what bugged me about "Nasdijj" was the lies and the pretension; in combination, they were just brainkillingly, risibly stupid. He seems to be leaning back that way at the moment (having just posted a photo that is apparently meant to represent the incredible labor of the Cinematheque gang, but that first popped up last summer back when it was the Mykonos studio that was the red hot crucible of Banished Films).
His desire to be at the heart of a questing, transgressive set of bohemians is both rather touching and, given the messianic spin he so often gives it, irritating.
